  • Fresh and healthy: Despite the desert landscape, fresh food is easy to obtain in the UAE

You may find it hard to believe but this dry, desert landscape grows organic vegetables and fruits in abundance in the right season and, as consumers, we make a difference when we support local food and farmers.

    The Ripe Market Dubai

The Ripe markets are all about 'family, friends, fun, festivity, entertainment and community' where you can stock up on a variety of organic goodies as well as enjoy some family entertainment! The famous Ripe Food & Craft Market at its new location in Zabeel Park offers organic, seasonal and local fresh produce – you can pick up a Ripe Box for your family’s fruity needs, a bag of cucumbers and a bunch of kale for that green juice you want to whizz up, as well as your weekly staples including potatoes, onions, capsicum or arugula. Alongside Ripe, you will find loads of great vendors from across Dubai, selling everything from cheeses and honey, to nuts, spices and oils. The market opens every Friday from 9am to 1pm at Dubai's Zabeel Park, Gate 1.

    The Ripe Market Abu Dhabi

The Ripe Market recently took up residence in The Collection at the beautiful St Regis resort on Saadiyat Island, providing a unique outdoor community experience every Saturday from 10am til 2pm. Set amongst the beautiful Mediterranean architecture of The Collection, the market is the perfect place to stock up on local organic produce in Abu Dhabi and browse the offerings of some of the region’s artisans, crafters, jewellers and designers in a beautiful farmers market setting. The Ripe stall offers lots of fresh, local, seasonal, organic produce from kale and rocket, to capsicums and cucumbers and everything in between. Ripe also puts on a pop-up Market at Jones the Grocer Al Raha Gardens, Abu Dhabi, every Monday from 10am til 1pm, making it easy to get your hands on tasty, local fruit and vegetables.

    Blue Planet Green People

From its inception in Feb 2013, the market has evolved into a small family-friendly morning out and while the Friday morning JLT market is a regular, they also hold other small markets at other areas around Dubai including Meadows and Greens. The JLT market is held outside the store which is located at BS4, Al Seef 2, Cluster U in Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT). Keep an eye on their Facebook page for locations and times for their other pop-up markets, or give them a buzz on +971 4 369 5209.

It is an open-air farmer's market with stalls selling organic foods including fruits, vegetables, baked items, eggs, milk, cakes, honey, jam, beans, pulses, rice, coffee and more.
