If you’re not fasting during Ramadan, here's the top five places to dine in a healthy style in Dubai.

    DINE IN

    Friend's Avenue

One of our personal faves! From the mint lemon water to the coffee to the décor to the staff, everything about this homegrown café is cozy and relaxed. We love the industrial decor with exposed walls and mason jar lights. More than this, though, we love the affordable and delicious menu – it’s our go-to breakfast spot (we love the granola or scrambled eggs on toast, coupled with a green smoothie). Lunch offers an array of healthy salads too, and – quite importantly – the coffee is really good!

During Ramadan, the café is open for both dine-in and takeaway from 8am to 6pm.

Address: Fortune Tower, Cluster T, Jumeirah Lake Towers, 04 554 5813

    Urban Bistro

Urban Bistro is one of our most frequented spots for a breakfast or lunch spot! With a nice, relaxing view overlooking the Media City Amphitheater lake, there is lots of green to be taken in while enjoying a nice breakfast or lunch. The menu has a number of decent healthy picks and the place has some of the friendliest staff in town.

The quinoa salad, green juice and sweet potato fries are our top picks!

Address: CNN Building, Dubai Media City, Dubai, open daily 7am to 6pm, 04 3624330

    Sophie’s Café

This hidden gem is literally hidden, parked behind Riva Beach Club and said to boast 'homestyle' food with natural ingredients and organic elements where it can. While some online reviews moan about location despite it being minutes from Media City and easily accessible, here at FitnessLink we will go anywhere that good, healthy food takes us!

Sophie's winning features by far are their no fuss juices and salads. The counter offers a deli-like view of what's on offer so you pick your food based on what tickles your taste buds. Their lunch dishes are priced somewhat higher than what you’ll find at other cafes, but their portions are extremely generous.

Address: Shoreline 8, Riva Complex, Dubai, open daily 7am to 9pm, 04 4515982

    Fraiche

A spacious and open venue, Fraiche is one of JLT’s go-to dining spots. The main course salads are generously portioned and freshly made – the lentil with finely chopped celery and apple will fill you up for a healthy lunch and the minted watermelon and feta is perfect for a hot day.

If you’re feeling especially hungry on a Friday morning, the restaurant does a special ‘all you can eat’ deal – 75Dhs to order as many items from the menu as you can eat.

Address: Swiss Tower, Cluster Y, Dubai, open daily 8am to 10pm, 04 3697821. Delivery services to certain areas start from 21 June.

    Nofara Cafe

Tucked away in Cluster Y of JLT is another little gem. Nofara café is a quiet spot for a tasty breakfast or lunch, with a selection of healthy options. For breakfast, you can’t go wrong with one of their omelets, quinoa pancakes or the “All Day Breakfast” which comes with muesli, eggs, toast, coffee and an orange juice (65Dhs), but beware – you need to be hungry for this one.
