  • Women can train among those of similar strength and fitness, which reduces the stress.

Women can feel intimidated and isolated in gymnasiums that are overloaded with men lifting heavy weights and training. This doesn’t have to be the case anymore. Burn Room in Al Quoz, Dubai allows ladies to be at ease when training as they can push themselves without any concerns.

Burn Room – a ladies-only gym – is far from a stereotypical place to workout.  You’ll find punch bags, ropes, boxes and medicine balls for the type of people that like to train without going on machines. The classes involve functional and innovative exercises so the girls can feel the ‘burn’ without having to do tedious workouts that involve things like biking and running.

Melissa Trent, who was trying the Burn Room out for the first time after having heard about it on social media, was really impressed with the intensity of the workouts and the design of the gym: “It’s not pink and purple like you’d expect from a ladies only gym,” said Melissa.

“I like that it’s not girly. The military style makes you feel energised compared to the other gyms I have been to that are just for females. My first experience of this gym has been a sweaty good time.”

Ayyam, who trains regularly at the Burn Room, feels the gym has a unique feel about it that makes you want to keep coming back for more compared to a conventional facility.

“The Burn Room isn’t like any gym you have been to before,” claimed Ayyam.

Something extra: Members can test their limits using various equipment at Burn Room.

“You don’t have to waste your time on cardio machines like treadmills and bikes that are boring. Here you get to kill time by testing your own body’s ability. This makes it way more fun, especially when you are doing the classes or testing and pushing yourself against other girls.”

Burn Room relaunched recently after being a mixed gym before. Their membership levels are already starting to soar due to the affordable packages and appealing classes on offer.

Mona has only recently moved to Dubai but has become a member of the Burn Room after it was recommended to her by a friend. She said: “I’ve never been to a ladies gym before so I was intrigued to see what it was like.

“I think you can work out better when with just other girls because you are fearless rather than when you are training with men. So you can push yourself to the max. Everybody’s at a similar level of fitness and strength in the Burn Room, which feels nice as you don’t have to be embarrassed doing any of the exercises.”

So give Burn Room a try yourself to find out why ladies keep coming back for more.
