For the first time ever, Zayed Sports City is hosting not one but two amazing camps with a wide range of exciting activities that will keep children entertained during the winter holidays.
The Ice Skating and Kids Holiday Camps have been hugely popular since launching and their latest, which returns this month in Abu Dhabi will be no different.
With nine-hours of fun planned during the five-day Kids Holiday Camp, which gets under way on December 20, youths will not be short of options when it comes to being entertained.

The agenda includes activities that will certainly get children’s hearts pumping such as ‘Wet ‘N Wild’ paintball, football, bowling, basketball and arts and crafts.
Having entertained more than 200 children during the summer, Barry Bremner, general manager at Zayed Sports City is delighted more will be able to enjoy this month.
“We’re thrilled to expand our highly successful kids camps programme by offering winter sessions for the first time ever this month,” he said. “Zayed Sports City’s kids holiday camp is the perfect opportunity for children to take advantage of the holiday break, play in the beautiful weather and have fun with their new best friends at our world-class facilities.”
The camp runs from 08:30 to 17:30 and costs Dh1,000 for the week, while it’s Dh900 for siblings.
It will certainly be a busy period for the venue with also the Ice Skating Camp taking place. Running for two weeks – December 13 to 17, and December 20 and 24, children can improve their skills on ice through games and lessons under the guidance of qualified instructors.
“The camp is appropriate for children that have never skated before to those in intermediate level,” said Bremner.
“On a typical day, they start with an on-ice skating lesson, which is split based on skill level. Our coaches take them through ‘Learn to Skate’ lessons that include the very basic moves of safe falling and standing, or something more adv-anced like a turn or even a jump.
“It provides an environment where children can thrive on and off the ice. We place safety first and foremost, then add in the expertise from our coaches with the other children engaging in other activities. We’ve excelled with this formula for more than 10 years and are confident this is the best skating camp of its kind in the Middle East.”
Morning sessions run from 09:00 to 13:00 while afternoon is 13:00 to 17:00. The fee for the five-day camp is Dh650, which includes snacks, skates and safety gear.
