The Northern Knights are keen to extend their winning run on their happy hunting ground in Raipur when they take on Hobart Hurricanes in a Champions League Twenty20 match tonight.
The Knights have been on a roll winning all three games in the qualifiers and then taking the sting out of Cape Cobras to make a successful start to the group stage as well.
Interestingly, the Knights will be playing their last game at the venue where they have won all their four matches. Pace bowler Tim Southee is confident they can sign off with a win.
“It has been nice to come here and not lose a single game,” he said. “Our goal is to leave Raipur unbeaten and move on to the next challenge in other grounds.
“You want to win every game and it will be nice to continue the winning ways that we have started. Winning becomes a habit and I think you can gain a lot of momentum from winning games. Hopefully we can continue with that.”
The Knights are not taking the Hurricanes for granted though and Southee expects a tough challenge from the Big Bash champions.
He said: “The Hurricanes not only have a good batting lineup but they have a good bowling lineup as well. They have got some quality experienced seamers and a couple of handy spinners as well. They are a very good side and a lot of our guys have played against a few of their guys and know them a little bit.”
