He had the ability to move the ball and pick up important wickets for his team India but it was his batting prowess which made the difference at times especially at the 1983 world cup, which was won by India.

Kapil is just second to South African Lance Klusener in the list of batsman having the highest strike-rate in history of world cup. In 24 innings, Kapil accumulated 669 runs in his world cup career with impressive strike-rate of 115.14 hitting 54 boundaries and 14 sixes.

He has an average of 37.16 with the best 175 not out against Zimbabwe in 1983 which came off 136 balls with six sixes and 16 boundaries and helped India to an amazing win despite being 5 for 17 at one stage.

Kapil also took 28 wickets in world cup history which makes him truly a special all-rounder and any team would love to have services of such players who can make vital all-round contributions.
