At stumps, and with the hosts circling, England were fighting for their lives but nursing a 107-run advantage that could yet prove decisive.
The game progressed rapidly in Barbados yesterday, with England ending their first innings in the morning session, getting halfway through their second in the evening and dismissing the hosts for 189 in between.
It was a bowling day from first to last at the Kensington Oval, but James Anderson was in thrilling form as he claimed six for 42 to convert England’s modest 257 all out into a 68-run lead.

It was the latest magic moment in Anderson’s unforgettable tour of the Caribbean, having become the country’s leading Test wicket-taker in Antigua and inspired his side to victory on day five in Grenada.
But the home attack were also in fine form, England losing three for 17 to be bowled out in the morning, then reaching stumps under the cosh.
West Indies’ Jermaine Blackwood was a lone success with the bat, hitting 11 fours and four sixes in a devil-may-care 85. The tone was set first up as West Indies seamer Taylor blew away the English tail.
