  • T20 cricket heading for UAE?

The inaugural Pakistan Super League may finally be heading to the UAE as the Pakistan Cricket Board are having a rethink on their initial plans of hosting it in Doha in February 2016.

According to a PCB source, there is now a “strong possibility” of the PSL being staged in the UAE with the board likely to make an annoucement by next week.

The UAE had originally been first choice but as the Emirates Cricket Board had alloted their venues in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah for the Masters Cricket League around the same period, PCB were forced to opt for Doha.

Although the Pakistan board announced last month finalising Doha as the host of their Twenty20 league, an arrangement has reportedly been reached between the ECB, MCL and PCB to hold the PSL between February 4-20.

The MCL refused to comment on the development while repeated calls to ECB officials went unanswered.
