  • Upbeat: Mohammed Hafeez.

Pakistan senior batsman Mohammad Hafeez is certain his side can deliver outstanding performances in back-to-back Twenty20 Internationals against England tomorrow and Friday at the Dubai International Stadium.

Hafeez, who has featured in 65 T20Is, is confident Pakistan will recover from the disappointment of a 3-1 One-Day International series loss as they look to cement their No2 spot in the ICC rankings.

“We have been winning in the Twenty20 format, like we have been winning in Test matches,” he said.

“I believe this team has got more skills in Twenty20 (than ODIs), because we have been playing with each other in this format over the last couple of years. I feel we will put up a better show.”

After Pakistan won the three-match Test series 2-0 and England bounced back in the ODI series, Hafeez said the T20Is would decide which team would leave the UAE with bragging rights at the end of two months of action.

“We beat England comprehensively in the Tests and that is something very special for us,” he said.

“Now it is the Twenty20s, it is 1-1 in the series so this is the decider.”

Hafeez added he and his team-mates were looking forward to playing again at the Dubai Stadium, a venue that has staged the most number of T20Is. “It is the best ground for Twenty20s,” he said.
