Held Saturday, 5th September between 10am and 2pm, it will showcase the cricket, football and golf academies both indoor and outdoor across the sprawling Sports Village campus.

The family fun-day is free to all and allows parents and their children to meet the likes of former Real Madrid defender, Michael Salgado who runs the site’s Spanish Soccer Schools.

The Els Club will also display what they offer the young generation of golfers with the internationally renowned Butch Harmon School of Golf on hand to give kids the chance to get involved.

“Dubai Sports City’s Open Day is an exciting event not just for the kids but for us as organisers because we all know we make kids so much happier year after year,” said Dubai Sports City General Manager – Sports Business, Maqbul Dudhia. “This year in particular is set to be the most exciting yet because we are now at a stage where we have more sport to offer than ever before.”

Coaches will be available to interact with the children and give them insights on their favorite sport, providing enough information to both kids and parents to decide which sport best suits them. Kids who then sign up for an academy of their choice will receive special discounts and prizes for their registration.

Will Kitchen, General Manager of the ICC Academy explained that there will be a special guest attending the Open Day, saying: “We have Holly Ferling from the Australian Women’s Cricket team who will be with us which is really great.

“Holly made her debut in top-class cricket at the age of 14 so she has great experience of getting opportunities in sport which she can pass on to the families that come and see us on Saturday.”

The Dubai Sports City Open Day will also play host to a host of fun activities that keep the whole family entertained for hours. These include face painting, a bouncy castle, food and drinks as well as exciting competitions.
