Hop on the fitness bandwagon in Dubai for UAE National Sports Day

    Sports fans in Dubai will not be short of options for Wednesday’s UAE National Sports Day with more than 40 events planned across the emirate.

    The inaugural event, which aims to unite people through sport and live a healthier lifestyle, will kick off the celebrations ahead of next week’s National Day.

    Whatever your ability or age, there is something for everyone with a wide variety of sports on offer. 

    More than 500 will flock to Dubai Autodrome for the BeWell Tour where you can walk or cycle around the modern race track. There will be different distances to choose from and you can ride or walk at your own pace.

    At the Dubai International Marine Club, several activities are on the agenda throughout the day including chess, football, water sports, fly-boarding, zumba, table tennis and tug of war.

    At 16:00, the Al Qudra Track will welcome runners for the Desert Run, while the Dubai International Bowling Centre will host games throughout the day.

    Meanwhile, Duplays’ will hold four exciting tournaments. Basketball (men and women), volleyball and football (men’s only) are all on the agenda with prizes up for grabs at Al Wasl Sports Club. 

    Over at the Dubai Offshore Sailing Club, you can get to grips with yachting from 10:00. 

    And there will be free taster sessions in Kung Fu at 10:00 at Ras Al Khor Park and 18:00 at Al Barsha Park.
