  • Mahmoud Tannir is a former UAE Sportbike champion.

It has been a rollercoaster of a week. Two rounds of racing in one weekend and all the usual ups and downs of my hectic schedule.

Round 2 and 3 of the UAE Championship were not too bad; I did not expect a win because we were racing on the GP circuit which is a long circuit.

It has three long straights and this is where I suffered the most with the power of the bike.

I wasn’t expecting much but I have finished third in both rounds, which is still good for the championship points.

Overall the race was fun, I enjoyed it and the main positive that I could take from last weekend was that the improvements of the bike have been noticeable and we can implement the same settings for the next round.

The preparation for the next round will not be as intense as the groundwork has been done in the previous round.

Physically I feel great, and as for the bike there should not be too much to work on as the International One circuit is shorter than the GP Circuit and I’m hoping to reduce our deficit in power.

We will have a free practice on Thursday and so we can plan things out better and see if we can make some improvements regarding the bike.

I feel optimistic about this weekend’s race and I am sure that we can perform well.
