Sheikh Khalid bin Faisal Al Qassimi and co-driver Chris Patterson will lead the Abu Dhabi Racing team’s participation in Oman International Rally this coming weekend, aboard their DS 3 RRC car.

Racing in the 2WD Citroën DS 3 R3, ADR junior drivers Saeed Bintouq and Mansoor Belhelei are looking forward to repeating last year’s achievement of finishing in the top 10.

Speaking ahead of the Oman race, Al Qassimi said: “I am really looking forward to Oman Rally, it’s always nice to come back to Oman, the stages are really beautiful.

    – TRD 86 Cup: Al Rashed surprises himself with start
    – Kovalainen: Surprises expected at new Mexican GP

    – F1: Mercedes unhappy with possible engine changes
    – F1: Perez bracing for first ever home Grand Prix

“The terrain in Oman is very rough and challenging, last year in the candidate event we were leading the rally before a broken drive shaft prevented us from winning the event. So we will have a lot of work to do on the RRC car’s setup to ensure it is properly prepared.

“My aim in Oman will of course be to win the Rally, I won the Oman International Rally in 2007 and will do my best to repeat that achievement this weekend.”

The 253.82Km long event is divided into 13 Special Stages spread over three days.

There will be one stage on the first day (Thursday 5th of November) taking place over 3km, while the following two days (Friday 6th Nov/ Saturday 7th Nov) will consist of 6 stages per day totalling 124.80Km and 123Km respectively.
