  • James Harden and Clint Capela led the Rockets past the Utah Jazz in the second round.

The top two seeds in the Western Conference will face off for a spot in the NBA finals after the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors wrapped up series wins.

The Rockets won their third consecutive game in the best-of-seven series, with Chris Paul scoring 41 points in a 112-102 victory over the Utah Jazz.

Houston grabbed the lead early on, but Utah pulled back and held the lead going into the final quarter in the do-or-die clash.

But 37 points for the Rockets in the final frame, with Paul, James Harden and Eric Gordon all in the scoring, saw Houston progress.

The Rockets will be looking to see off the Warriors in the next round, having seen their play-off dreams cut short by Golden State in two of the last three seasons.

For their part, Steph Curry and company recorded their 15th straight home playoff win, beating the New Orleans Pelicans to tie with a record set by the Chicago Bulls in 1990-91.

Draymond Green was within one assist of a triple-double in the 113-104 victory, scoring 19 points and having 14 rebounds.

Curry scored 28, with Kevin Durant having 24 and Klay Thompson 23, while Anthony Davis led the Pelicans with 34 points and 19 rebounds and Jrue Holiday hit a triple-double with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.
