Allardyce – or “Big Sam” as he’s more commonly known – saw his reign as England boss cut short after just 67 days and one game following an investigation from The Daily Telegraph.

However, the former Bolton Wanderers boss, renowned for his successful and robust management style, has been one of the best English managers in the game in recent years.

During his managerial career, Allardyce has achieved three promotions [Bolton, West Ham and Notts County] and has taken charge of 467 Premier League games; the second highest for an English manager behind Harry Redknapp.

Big Sam also led Bolton Wanderers into European football for the first time in the club’s history after finishing sixth in the Premier League.

They reached the last 32 of the UEFA Cup, having progressed from a group that included Besiktas, Zenit St Petersburg and eventual winners Sevilla.

1981: Heikki Kovalainen, was an ex F1 driver who became the 100th driver to win a race in 2008 in Hungary (35).

1989: Miroslav Stoch, was a winger for Al Ain who now plays Turkish club Fenerbahce (27).

1994: Agne Sereikaite, was first ever Lithuanian short track skater to qualify for the Olympics in 2014 (22).
