  • Malcolm Marshall.

In the first Test in Kanpur, the Windies started positively on the opening day and on Day Two, which was on this day 33 years ago, Malcolm Marshall put the Windies in command.

He first smashed a career best 92 batting at No8 and then took the new ball, blowing away the Indians with sheer pace.

His opening spell read 8-5-9-4, which included the wicket of Sunil Gavaskar for a second ball duck.

The Caribbean side were unstoppable from there on as they cruised to an innings victory.
