The Al Ain International Kids Jiu-Jitsu Championship came to a close on Sunday after a series of adrenaline pumping performances at the United Arab Emirates University in Al Muwaiji.

The two-day championship saw over 1,500 young Jiu-Jitsu players from across the UAE and 15 other countries take to the mat, with Emirati participants winning 474 medals.

The event included more than 650 female participating on day one, while the male category on the second day featured over 800 participants.

HE Abdul Moneim Al Hashemi, chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said: “We are incredibly proud of all the participants who showcased their immense talent and skills. It was especially fantastic to see such a strong participation from the younger generation of female Jiu-Jitsu athletes.

“Our Emirati players also performed remarkably and we are extremely proud of their achievements.”
