  • Shaun Wright-Phillips, the English winger who turns 34 on Tuesday, now represents New York Red Bulls.

His career started at Manchester City in 1999, and once he broke into England’s national side, he bagged a £21 million deal with Chelsea, the then-defending English Premier League champions, in 2005. In 2008, he was bought back by Manchester City, and was subsequently transferred to Queens Park Rangers in 2011.

Wright-Phillips has earned 36 caps since making his international debut in 2004, and scored six goals. He was part of the English contingent at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
