    One more training session” was Jose Mourinho’s verdict on Manchester United‘s 0-0 draw against San Jose Earthquakes, overnight on Monday.

    The Reds boss appeared completely unperturbed by United’s second consecutive draw on its US friendly tour, conceding: “We are not a team.”

    With many of his best players missing the trip after World Cup commitments, the Portuguese appeared content that the squad – this time with Alexis Sanchez included – were able to get some practice in, if nothing else.

    “We are not a team. We’re a group of players from different teams,” he told MUTV after the game.

    Jurgen Klopp is ramping up his side’s pre-season preparations.

    Meanwhile, Liverpool travelled to Charlotte in North Carolina on Sunday as their pre-season campaign stepped up a gear in their first match of the International Champions Cup against manager Jurgen Klopp’s old club Borussia Dortmund.

    The Reds led 1-0 at the break thanks to a thundering header from Virgil van Dijk but three moments of pure class from Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic turned the game around in the second half as the Germans claimed a 3-1 victory.
