Can the UAE triumph on home soil?

The Asian Cup has been described as the “jewel in the crown of Asian football” by organisers of the 2019 tournament, which kicks off in the UAE in January.

Next year’s tournament, the 17th edition of the Asian Cup, will kick off on January 5 at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Sports City Stadium when the hosts take on Gulf neighbours Bahrain in the opening game.

Ryan Lochte cannot compete again until July 2019.

After getting an intravenous injection and posting a photo on Instagram, Ryan Lochte was slapped with a 14-month suspension by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.

While his punishment is not for a banned substance, the American swimmer admitted the mistake was ‘devastating’.

“This is devastating for my family and me, and I was finally back in top shape. I was ready to return to the national team and represent the US at the Pan Pacific Games this summer and World Championships of next year,” Lochte said.

Malcom could be on his way to Barcelona after Blaugrana launched a bid late on Monday night to sign the Brazilian star.

The 21-year-old was headed to Serie A giants Roma, however, his current club Bordeaux have blocked the move despite an agreement being in place between the two sides.
