If you’re ready to prove you’re a warrior, then prepare yourself for the ultimate physical test in the Desert Warrior Challenge.
The course requires team work, power, mental strength, and fitness to complete its range of obstacles. Registration has opened for 2015 and the Desert Warrior Challenge will be held at the Dubai Police Academy Training Ground on October 23, so there’s still plenty of time to get in shape.
After the popular event successfully launched in the UAE in 2014, the latest edition will raise the bar with even more challenging obstacles designed to get participants running, crawling, jumping, carrying, climbing and sliding their way to the finish line.
Troy Gillham, managing director for Desert Warrior Challenge, said: “We are very excited to be bringing The GMC Desert Warrior Challenge back to Dubai, its home and birth place. This event we are going to up the ante by bringing the Warriors bigger and more challenging obstacles while introducing our Junior Warrior category for the little guys.

Participants can choose from a variety of courses. The Ultimate Warrior is for serious competitors, with the course the same as the Desert Warrior, but timed.
The Desert Warrior course will be the main event as participants navigate 10-plus kilometres and 20-plus obstacles.
For those who don’t feel they’re ready for the Desert Warrior can choose the Fearless Warrior course for those in training.
The scaled-down version is 5-plus kilometres with 12-plus obstacles.
The fighters of the future can take part in the Junior Warrior, which will be approximately 1.5km with eight obstacles for ages eight to 12. Parents can cheer their youngsters on from the side of the track.
Some of the obstacles you can expect to encounter are the 1/4 Pipe, The Monster, Monkey Business, Hangin’ On and Twin Peaks.
The entry fee for adults ranges from Dh315 to Dh570 and from Dh125 to Dh170 for juniors. To register, visit www.desertwarriorchallenge.com.
