  • [L-R] Vincent Enyeama, Jon Dahl Tomasson, Olivier Jacque.

It’s still a bit of a mystery as to why it didn’t work out for the Great Dane during his one season in the Premier League with Newcastle.

The striker went on to have a fantastic career at some of the biggest clubs in world football and became Denmark’s joint highest goalscorer (52 in 112 games) with Poul Nielsen, yet struggled in England.

Now working as an assistant manager for Dutch side Vitesse, the former Danish Player of the Year turns 39 today.

By far his most successful stints came in his first with Feyenoord with whom he won the 2002 UEFA Cup and AC Milan.

Tomasson was inspired in the 2002 campaign and helped the Dutch club end their 26-year wait for an international title by scoring four goals in the competition.

In 2003, although mainly used as a sub, he won the Champions League with Milan and added the Seire A title in 2004.

1973: Olivier Jacque, is a former Grand Prix motorcycle rider and now technical advisor to Kawasaki Racing Team (42).

1978: Celestine Babayaro, is a former defender for both Chelsea and Newcastle United (37).

1980: Chris Simms, is a retired quarterback. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2003 NFL Draft (35).

1982: Vincent Enyeama, is a goalkeeper for Ligue 1 side Lille and the Nigeria national team (33).
