  • High scorers: Cincinnati Bengals.

The Cincinnati Bengals and San Diego Chargers tangle in a meeting of teams coming off high-scoring openers.

After cruising to a 33-13 victory over the Oakland Raiders, the Bengals get a more challenging AFC West opponent in San Diego, which fought back for a 33-28 win against the Detroit Lions. The 483 yards by the Chargers were good for highest in the league, while Cincinnati’s defence allowed the third-fewest, surrendering 246 to Oakland.

In the NFC East, the Philadelphia Eagles look to rebound from a loss in their opener as they host the Dallas Cowboys in a reunion for running back DeMarco Murray.

Last season’s NFL leading rusher was let go by Dallas in free agency and had a forgettable debut with Philadelphia last week, netting nine yards on eight carries in the 26-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

DeMarco Murray scores a touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons.

The Eagles’ offence as a whole was night and day from the first and second half, producing 21 points after the intermission with quarterback Sam Bradford completing 21-of-25 passes for 219 yards.

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, meanwhile, will transition to life without Dez Bryant following the wide receiver’s surgery on his fractured foot, expected to keep him out for at least six weeks.

Marcus Mariota looks to build on his impressive debut when the Tennessee Titans travel to face the Cleveland Browns, while fellow rookie gunslinger Jameis Winston searches for his first career win in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ face-off with the New Orleans Saints.
