With the climate now getting cooler, Yas Beach has wasted no time in organsing a Volleyball tournament which promises to serve up some fun and exciting encounters.
Open for players of all abilities, anyone aged over 21 can get involved at this stunning venue and battle for title glory in either of the Mixed, Men’s or Women’s events.

The tournament consists of two rounds – qualifications followed by the knockout stages. The Mixed and Men’s qualifications begin on October 16 and 23 respectively, with the knockout stages a day later, while the women’s event will be held on October 31.
Now in its fourth edition, the Beach Volleyball tournament has gone from strength to strength. It’s no surprise given that volleyball is widely played in the UAE on many of the beautiful beaches in the country. So far entry numbers have been very positive, and this month’s tournament looks set to be another success following on from previous events.
“Since we launched our first volleyball tournament in January 2013, they have been well received and incredibly popular,” said Simina Prisecaru, marketing and PR co-ordinator at Yas Beach.
Players must be aged 21 and over, with teams consisting no more than three, while games will be played as the best of three sets.
Registration is Dh300 per team which includes soft drinks and deadline is three days before the qualifiers of the event you want to participate in.
With just over a week left until the first event, Prisecaru is encouraging more teams to sign up.
“What makes this tournament so special is the players who take part,” she said. “That’s what makes it click. We realise that more people are now playing beach volleyball after playing in one of our tournaments and that is encouraging to see. It will be a vibrant atmosphere and spectators and players can look forward to some thrilling matches.”
