Advanced-level riders and drivers can experience how fast their vehicle goes without having to worry about the constraints and risks that you would find on public roads.

The Dubai Autodrome calendar is packed with series of events including the NGK Racing Series, Hankook 24 Hours and the UAE Sportbike Championship.

And with giving motoring enthusiasts the opportunity of what it feels like to drive around one of UAE’s most-modern circuits, it’s no surprise to see the Track Days are widely popular.

If you want to see for yourself why it’s earned rave reviews on Friday, then you must be in a possession of a full driving licence and taken part in a novice track day at Dubai Autodrome. Alternatively, you should hold a current competitions licence or show proof of a confirmation letter stating you have participated in track days at other motor clubs.

“Following the summer break, the Track Days at Dubai Autodrome is back and we are expecting even more numbers to take part,” said Paul Velasco, communications manager at Dubai Autodrome.

Need for speed: Push your bike to the limit during the Track Day.

He added: “It will be a thrilling experience as it’s not every day you can hit the track, but safety is absolutely crucial for us. We will have marshals overlooking the circuit and observing on our CCTV cameras to ensure everything goes smoothly. The most important thing is we want those drivers and rider to feel the speed but in a safe environment.”

Riders must wear full leathers and boots with compulsory measures on all bikes to have front facing light and must be fastly secured to the front for the motorcycle. And wearing a helmet, which can be hired for Dh50, is also mandatory, while all vehicles must be road worthy.

Sessions will run in 20 minute blocks for up to three hours. Car sessions (Dh800) is between 08:00 and 12:00, while the bikes is from 11:30 to 17:00 (Dh750).

Having experienced it himself, Velsaco insists it’s not one to be missed.

“Expect something amazing,” he said. “People will get a rush of adrenaline when they hit the track and will love every second of it.”
