    Visitors to the Al Ain Air Championship will not be short of options for entertainment with heart-stopping stunts and military flying teams on show in a weekend not to be missed.

    Now in its 11th edition, it has gone from strength to strength and the December 17 to 19 event at Al Ain International Airport will be no different.

    Besides the new competition format, you can enjoy a wide range of entertainment that guarantees to enthral flying enthusiasts and families in the country.

    Al Ain local and Red Bull Drifting champion Ahmed Al Ameri will showcase his drifting skills. And adding to the thrill and excitement of the event, the motocross team ‘Freestyle Motor X’ will display their extraordinary abilities.

    And racing enthusiasts will not want to miss the official Air Drag. The Mercedes AMG E63 will go head-to-head against Richard Goodwin’s Pitt S2C muscle plane in a two-part match race series.

    In the skies, civilian and military teams including Fursan Al Emarat, Saudi Hawks, Breitling Wingwalkers (UK), China’s Red Bullstars, Richard Goodwin Airshows, US’ Misty Blues Skydiving, Belgium’s Belgian Broncos and UK’s Glider FX Aerobatics will all look to put on a dazzling show.

    It’s easy to see why Lieutenant Colonel Nasser Al Obaidli, Fursan Al Emarat Team leader, believes this month’s event is a must-attend.

    He said: “The Fursan Al Emarat team represents the entire nation of the UAE. As part of the Air Force, our mission is to do the nation proud while engaging and exciting people with our stunts. We are thrilled to be part of the Al Ain Air Championship and are excited to see other acts from around the world. It is an event not to be missed for aviation enthusiasts and families alike.”

    There will also be live music from the New Orleans Jazz band, The Swing Pack and from Gari Deegan as well as a mix of tunes from the Red Bull DJ Trucks.

    All in all, Sultan Al Dhaheri, acting executive director Tourism at Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, insists spectators are in for a treat.

    “With our action-packed schedule of fun-filled family activities, ranging from dramatic aerobatic displays and simulator experiences to interactive games and car-drifting spectacles, the Al Ain Air Championship will be a must-attend event,” he said.

    “We are not just focusing on the day-time activities; we’re extending the experience into the evening with live music and a daily hot air balloon display, set to an impressive sound and light show for the whole family to enjoy.”
