  • Fun run: Around 3,000 runners are expected for the event.

The first ever Dubai Festival City Road Race will be held on April 4 and organisers are inviting UAE residents to enjoy a day full of running, entertainment and prizes for adults and children.

Participants in the Road Race, together with their friends and family, will gather at the Race Village located outside the Toys R Us court at Dubai Festival City Mall to register.

The event will start at 8:00am with the 10km race, followed by the 3km race at 8:30am.

Over a thousand people have already registered and organisers expect around 3,000 runners to take part in the two races.

“The Dubai Festival City Road Race aspires to become a signature running event in Dubai’s annual events calendar and is part of Dubai Festival City and Al-Futtaim’s on-going efforts to create meaningful and interactive engagement with members of the UAE’s community,” Fadi Hammadeh, Group General Counsel, Al-Futtaim and member of the Race Organization Team.

“We invite everyone to join us and enjoy a day out with their friends and families. The Road Race promotes the need to be active and exercise regularly in order to stay fit and lead a healthy lifestyle.”

Runners and their guests will have the opportunity to participate in warm-up and zumba sessions courtesy of Al Areesh Club, Dubai Festival City’s community centre.

Non-race participants will be kept entertained throughout the event with music and dance performances from Deira International School.

Children can spend time at the event’s Chill Zone, which is equipped with a bouncy castle and manned by face-painting artists.

Everyone will also have the chance to enter in a raffle draw to win prizes.
