  • Free admission: Dubai Sports City will hold the Second Hand Cycles and Parts Bazaar.

If you’re looking to buy or sell any bike equipment then head down to Dubai Sports City tomorrow (Friday) for the Second Hand Cycles and Parts Bazaar.

    – PLAY: Sport360 World Cup Stick Cricket

Open between 09:00 and 16:00 at Centre Court, Sports Village at Dubai Sports Village, the free-admission event is a must if you’re a cycling enthusiast or simply want to know more about the sport.

Items ranging from helmets to spare bicycle parts will be on sale across various stalls on the day.

And it’s a great opportunity for those who want to try their luck on finding a bike part that they’ve always been after or even more, pick up some great bargains.

And the event isn’t just for buyers.

For Dh200, a table can be hired on the day where you can sell any cycling equipment you may have. Included in the fee is six bottles of water and a food voucher.

There will also be a designated area for those who want to sell their bikes on the day.

“It’s a place that you will find cycling parts new and old,” said Klaus Pigorsch, organiser of the Bazaar. “Anyone who is interested in cycling or keen to give it a go, should visit the bazaar on the day.

"Everything on display will be associated with cycling, so whether you’re after a spare part or looking for a bike, it’s worth coming down and having a look.”

He added: “We’ve been planning to hold this for a long time but due to time issues, we found it difficult to get a suitable venue but extremely happy to be holding it at Dubai Sports City.

“It’s the first one that we have organised and we are elated that it’s now just days away.”

With a bouncy castle, food and beverage stalls among the entertainment planned for the day, Pigorsch insists it’s worth visiting.

“It’s not just about buying or selling bike gear,” he said. “We want this bazaar to act as a way of getting people to know each other in the cycling community as the profile of the sport is growing in the UAE  and it will be good way to socalise.

“There are some cycling clubs that will be on hand giving advice and tips on how to take up the sport in the UAE, which will be beneficial.”
