In Celebration of its 10 anniversary, the creators of Beach Polo in Dubai – Mamemo productions have a treat for all polo enthusiasts in the country as they line up some of the world’s top Arena Polo players to compete in the Julius Baer beach Polo Cup in Dubai.
Scheduled to take place on the 11 and 12 April at the iconic Skydive Dubai, this year’s inaugural dusk to evening games are set to light up the action at the Polo Cup.
Returning to the tournament, patrons Rashid Al Habtoor, (UAE) Mohammed Al Habtoor, (UAE) Piero Dillier (Switzerland) and Saeed bin Drai (UAE) will play under their teams Julius Baer, Bombardier & Vista Jet, Lindt Master Swiss Choclatiers and Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa, Mauritius respectively.
In addition to the experienced line up, sibling rivalry will erupt on the sand, as Mohammed Al Habtoor will play alongside his son Habtoor Al Habtoor to wrestle the trophy from his brother Rashid and son Khalaf, who were the 2013 tournament winners for team Julius Baer.
Top Argentine Pro Lucas Labat will also be playing with Piero Dillier for team Lindt, and Guillermo Cuitino will complete for the Bombardier & Vista Jet team.
Sam Katiela, the creator and founder of the Beach Polo Cup said there is much to look forward to for Polo enthusiasts in the city, “Fans are in for a real thrill. Not only does Beach Polo bring fans closer to the field, but for the first time, the games will be played into the evening, adding a whole other dimension.
“We’ve brought together a cast of internationally respected players to take part in this event worthy of the world stage.”
The Middle East Brand Manager for Cadillac – who are supporting the tournament for the first time this year – Nadim Ghrayeb explained that the high calibre of the event and the players is what makes this event stand out.
