  • Iconic setting: The Burj Al Arab provides the perfect backdrop for the beach polo event.

VistaJet Bombardier Polo Team’s Guillermo Cuitino is looking forward to playing some “serious” polo this weekend.

The Argentine six-goal player takes his place alongside Mohammed Al Habtoor and Habtoor Al Habtoor for the Julius Baer Beach Polo Cup 2014 and is predicting a competitive tournament.

“It will be a great tournament because the competition will be hard,” Cuitino told Sport360°. “They are not going to be exhibition games, it is going to be a proper tournament and that’s what I like. Normally, you hear polo on the beach or in the snow and it’s more of an exbition but this is a serious tournament.”

Cuitino has played with the father and son Al Habtoors for the past five years, and he believes theirfamiliarity could be a recipe for success on the sand at Skydive Dubai.

“I think we have a great team,” he added. “I have played with them [the Al Habtoors] before many times and we know each other, they are both good players.

“I know what they can do, I am really positive. I think we have a great team and a really good chance to be in the final.”

All the patrons and players that will take part in this weekend’s event took part in a parade on Dubai’s JBR The Walk yesterday, before being given a tour of the polo grounds.

“It’s going great,” said an impressed Cuitino. “The stadium is fantastic. It’s really well done and it looks like it’s going to be a really good event.”
