  • Godolphin‘s Fine Needle romped to a second consecutive win at the G2 Centaur Stakes at Hanshin in Japan on Sunday.

The five-year-old Admire Moon horse, trained by Yoshitada Takahashi, was held up in mid-division of the 15-strong field.

He started to improve a furlong and half out and came with a strong run on the outside to lead with almost half a furlong to go.

Harry Sweeney, President of Godolphin in Japan, said: “Fine Needle won really well.

“The trainer has been very happy with the horse and now Fine Needle will target the G1 Sprinters Stakes at Nakayama later this month”.

Fine Needle is already a G1 winner, having won Takamatsunomiya Kinen at Chukyo in March.
