On this day 25 years ago, St. Louis Blues star Hull helped create NHL history when he won the Hart Trophy, awarded to the league’s MVP each season.
The feat came 25 years after Hull’s Hall of Fame father, Bobby, had won his second Hart Trophy. They are the only father and son team to have claimed the award.
Right wing Hull scored 86 goals during the season, which still stands today as the third best tally in an NHL season, leading the Blues to the second best overall record.
