  • The ex-England forward, who scored 48 goals in 80 appearances for his country, turns 56.

    He won the Golden Boot in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.

    Lineker had a decorated playing career at boyhood club Leicester City before enjoying goal-laden spells at Everton, Barcelona and Tottenham.

    Interestingly, Lineker never received a yellow or red card throughout his many years in the game.

    He is well known for presenting Match of the Day and being one of the faces of English football in the UK.

    Lineker is also prolific on social media.
