Team HOMKO won the fifth edition of the Mubadala Football Tournament, beating Salesbury 2-0 in a penalty shootout at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Sports City Stadium over the weekend.

The weeklong tournament, which kicked off on April 5, first saw over 16 teams play over three nights of round robin football before moving on to two nights of finals playoffs.
In the closely fought finals, HOMKO and Salesbury failed to break the deadlock at 2-2 in regulation time, but the former then converted their penalties to seal the title.
The tournament was hosted by Mubadala in collaboration with Healthpoint.
Head of Social Development and Partnerships at Mubadala Nadine Hassan said: “We are delighted with this year’s results, and it was wonderful to see the passion and sportsmanship that all the teams brought to the pitch.”
