Al Nasr FC Club in Rashid Festival for special needs children

  • The purpose behind the festival was to motivate special children who in fact proved they were very much able to give it their best.

    “Disability is in the willpower, not the body”, the words of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai).

    Rashid Centre for Disabled celebrated Rashid Sports Festival 2015 in a fun, colorful, energetic, enthusiastic, and upbeat way this Monday at Al Nasr Sports Club.  The special needs students of the Centre were at their best, full of energy and gusto, participating in a multitude of sporting activities.

    The purpose behind the event was to motivate these special children who in fact proved they were very much able to give it their best.

    The venue Al Nasr Sports club served as the perfect spot where the centre was able to have a large stadium which soon became full of cheering fans and spectators.

    Hundreds of attendees cheered in awe and rooted for the children who participated in an array of sports activities.

    Al Nasr FC Club played a football match with Rashid’s students.

    What was more exciting was that some very famous celebrities, humanitarian ambassadors, philanthropists, social figures, and board members also joined-in and had so much fun.

    Some of the participating prominent figures included Kuwaiti singer Shams, Dr. Ayman Al Baya’a, Mr. George Bechara, Emirati singer Aryam, and more. 

    The event was very colorful with giant mascots, students wearing sports t-shirts in violet, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red, children twirling ribbons, and numerous decorations.

    Mrs.Mariam Othman, Director General Rashid Centre for Disabled said, “I am very proud to see our students participate in Rashid Sports Festival with enthusiasm and motivation unsurpassed. 

    "The purpose behind our events is always to spread awareness on disability and special needs. 

    "Now everyone can see the true potential of special needs children, they can achieve everything and anything given the right platform to train, learn and grow.” 

    Students were awarded trophies as a symbol of achievement. 

    The event was possible through the generosity of participating sponsors/ partners like Zenith Swiss Watches, Dodsal Group, Al Wasl International Group, Agthia, Xpress Money and more. 

    Al Nasr FC Club spoke to the media about their appreciation of these special children and their impressive abilities.

    Rashid Stars also known as Nojoum Rashid, the talented and amazing song and dance band of Rashid Centre performed an acrobatic dance and also rode on tri-cycles.

    Music lead the way to the event, crowd cheers were proof of excitement and applause was a salute to the special needs community.

    Rashid Centre continues in its mission of spreading awareness on disability issues through their exciting, entertaining, and one-of-a-kind mega events.

    “With your love, we challenge disability”.
