As summer nears and outdoor temperatures soar upwards of 45°C, Dubai Sports World 2015 (DSW) – the region’s largest indoor sports venue – has partnered an exhilarating roster of UAE-based sports academies for its biggest-ever schedule of indoor Summer Camps for children between four-and-16 years of age.

In addition to dedicated Summer Camps for popular sports such as football, basketball, cricket and tennis, the landmark fifth anniversary of DSW will also boast an exciting new collection of extreme sports clinics including a Parkour course by Against GraviTi, Wire World Adventure Parks, and the Skateboarding & BMX Park by RAGE.

“With four successful summers under our belts, we wanted to celebrate this year’s fifth anniversary of Dubai Sports World by significantly expanding our Summer Camps offering,” said Ahmed Alkhaja, Senior Vice President, Venues, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

“Diversity has always been one of our main assets and we’ve enriched that diversity even further for 2015 via the loyal support of our historical academy partners and an exciting batch of new extreme sports providers.”

In a huge coup for parents exploring options to keep their children entertained and active throughout summer, an Early Bird discount is available on all DSW Summer Camps booked through the respective academy provider by Monday 15th June.

A core component of the extreme sports offerings, DSW’s first-ever dedicated Parkour obstacle course will house the Against GraviTi team hosting group classes in Streetworkout for Strength (GX), which covers basic calisthenic moves like push-ups through to more advanced techniques, as well as Parkour for Flow (GX), which teaches both basic and advanced Parkour movements, proper landing techniques and critical safety information.

With a variety of fun bridges and crossings for kids to navigate in a series of elevated challenges, Wire World Adventure Park also features a three-platform bungee trampoline – which can also be used as a kite-surf simulator – for kids and adults.

The area is open daily from 11am to 10pm for children between four-and-14 years of age.

With no age limit for entry, the purpose-built Skate & BMX Park by RAGE is back with an array of Rails, Grind Boxes, Fun Boxes and Ramps designed to bring the best out of both beginners and seasoned skaters.

As an extra bonus, some of the Middle East’s most talented Skateboarders and BMX riders will be dropping in to offer lessons, tips and tricks throughout DSW.

For the fifth consecutive year, the renowned IFA football coaching programme will be expertly delivered by English FA and UEFA qualified coaches under the supervision of ex-Premier League and England player, Dale Gordon.

After launching at DSW 2014, Frederic Kanote, a two-time African Footballer of the Year winner, is bringing his highly-qualified team of experienced coaches back to this year’s DSW with the KAFO Academy.

Back for a third consecutive year, the IFA Basketball Academy aims to develop and enhance individual skills including shooting and dribbling, passing and team play, and tactical knowledge of offence and defense.

The sessions will be run by former professional Ishmael Awange, who played professionally in the USA and China and is the proud wearer of an NCCA Championship ring.

With an exciting schedule of professional coaching clinics, tournaments and celebrity sessions, G Force Cricket Academy is also back for the third consecutive year. Gopal Jasapara, a former first-class cricketer, will offer lessons to improve form and develop the mental and physical attributes required for competitive cricket.

For serve-and-volley fans and big-hitting baseliners, Tennis 360 – an ever-present at DSW – will hold a Cardio Tennis Clinic involving aerobic drills, ball striking and TRX exercises, as well as a dedicated Ramadan Tennis Clinic with lighter workouts and point scoring matches with one of the academy’s leading coaches.

Running Sunday to Thursday, the academy caters to all ages and abilities and aims to develop an overall love for the game.

All DSW Summer Camps and academy classes are held in the 22,000m², fully air-conditioned, indoor venue at DWTC.

Open daily between 8am and 12am from June 21 to August 29, DSW closes at 1am during the Holy Month of Ramadan. For more information or to enroll in Summer Camps, log on to www.dubaisportsworld.ae or call +971 4 3064000.
