  • The run is open to everyone of all running abilities.

The Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) Zayed Sports City Pink Run returns this month and with hundreds signed up already, there’s still time to join them where your participation will make a huge difference.

Runners are encouraged to dress in pink on Friday, October 16 at Zayed Sports City with all funds going towards breast cancer awareness.

Whatever your ability in sport is, this is an event for everyone.

The 5km run is ideal for beginners and for those who don’t have much running experience. Those who want to push themselves further can take part in the 10km distance.

The minimum age to participate is eight years old, with the 11 categories ranging from juniors to veterans.

Steve Watson, managing partner of Gulf Multi Sport, event organisers, said: “This is a very special race on the calendar as we know how important the cause is for those taking part. Many of those running will have someone close to them who has been affected directly or indirectly by cancer.

“The event is for all ages and fitness levels and encourages runners to achieve their ambition whether that be simply completing the course or setting a personal best.”

Now in its third edition, the ADCB Zayed Sports City Pink Run has gone from strength to strength,as it continues to inspire those who are raising money for friends or family who have been diagnosed with cancer or have been affected by it themselves.

And ADCB are keen to see many people embrace the opportunity of taking part.

“We are very happy to have the opportunity for the third year to be part of the long standing ADCB Zayed Sports City Pink 5 and 10k run, which comes in support of breast cancer awareness,” said Majdi Abdul Muhdi, head of corporate communications at ADCB.

“This year we will be adding more value to the run with the ADCB Wellness-On-Wheels Mobile mammogram unit that will be available during the day of the event and will be offering free mammograms to the public in the endeavour to encourage and
support women to take the early detection test.”

Entry fees are Dh180 for adults and Dh110 for children, which also include a gift pack, an event Tshirt, a medal and refreshments.
