All runners are invited to take part alongside labourers in this month’s Labour Run to bring together the UAE’s running community.
The event will take place on Friday, November 27 at Sonapur Muhaisnah 2, Dubai, to increase the interest and participation in sports of labourers in the region.
Organised by Team Sports UAE, the Labour Run is meant to show support to all the wonderful and hard-working people who make the nation a better place to live, as well as promote a healthy lifestyle for all.

“This is a great way for us to promote running within the local community. I believe it’s our duty to make sure as many of the labourers are included in this,” said Meher Un Nissa, event director.
“We want to give them a chance to show that running is an active exercise. Most of them go and come from work and there’s no time for them to enjoy. We want to motivate them.
“But this isn’t all about the labourers. We want people to come and run. We will have around 400 runners taking part but we want more.
Overall it will be great day out and will be lots of fun.
“This is the first time we are org-anising this and we hope this will become an annual fixture every year.”
While labourers will compete in the 3k, other runners can take part in the 5k and 10k distances. The 5k and 10k winners in each age category will earn special trophies, medals, sports bags, vouchers.
There will also be lucky draws for all participants, with a chance to walk away with prizes worth up to Dh30,000.

The event will begin at 07:00 on the day, with the cut-off times for the 3k at 30 minutes, the 5k at an hour and the 10k at 90 minutes.
