    Two renowned scorers Geroge Gervin and Carmelo Anthony had previously held the record with 33 points but Thompson was in top form on court.

    The sharpshooting two guard shot a perfect 13-for-13 from the field, 9-for- 9 from beyond the arc, and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line during his record-setting period.

    Despite not playing the full quarter, he ended the game with 52 points, the most so far in an NBA game at the time, that season.
