  • Kyrie Irving (l) was in stunning form.

Kyrie Irving top scored with 29 points while LeBron James added 27 as the inconsistent Cavaliers led from the off and were never caught.

The San Antonio Spurs registered a 37th straight home victory as they saw off the spirited LA Lakers 106-102.

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 26 points while Kobe Bryant scored 25 for the Lakers on his last appearance in San Antonio before his retirement.

The Golden State Warriors’ home run is even better as they made it 41 wins in a row with a 116-108 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The reigning champions were led by Stephen Curry’s 26 points as they equalled the Philadelphia 76ers 1966-67 achievement for the best record after 50 games.

Kevin Durant scored 40 points for the Thunder, who see a five-game winning run snapped.

The Portland Trail Blazers earned a 96-79 win over the Houston Rockets, the Charlotte Hornets beat the Washington Wizards 108-104 and the Indianapolis Pacers were too strong for the Detroit Pistons, winning 112-104.

The Philadelphia 76ers were inspired by Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel as they beat the Brooklyn Nets 103-98, the Minnesota Timberwolves finished strongly to beat the Chicago Bulls 112-105 while the Dallas Mavericks earned a 114-110 overtime victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.
