From 07:30 on Saturday, October 8, a maximum of 130 people will take to the stairs of The Hilton, The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence, all in support of Rashid Centre for Disabled.
Now in its fifth edition, the event, in partnership with RACE ME, has gone from strength to strength and you can see for yourself on why it’s a big hit with registration still open.
Whether you’re an experienced athlete or a beginner, it’s open to all levels with every single dirham of the Dh150 fee going to Rashid Centre for Disabled which provides quality education and therapy services to children with special needs.
“Over the past couple of years, it has become a very nice event that is social mixed with sport and promoting a healthy life,” said Alexander Musch, general manager of Hilton Dubai, The Walk.
“With the hotel still operating as usual, we only have 130 spots available and given the success of the previous years, I expect it to sell out and I definitely believe we will have 130 people on the day.”
With 36 floors and 730 stairs to tackle, the course maybe daunting but once at the top, you will get a magnificent view of Dubai’s skyline.
Entrants must be 16 and over, and even if you are not competing, you can still play a part in making the event a success with donations welcome.
“This is something different to your normal form of exercise,” said Musch. “It’s a physical challenge by running up 36 flights of stairs. We were the first ones to do this and now there are many around Dubai. We want to raise as much money as possible, raise awareness and give something back to the society.”
Entry costs Dh150 which includes a medal, breakfast and a goody bag.
