    GARY PLAYER CHARITY GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP 2017 – DAY 1
    Starting Tuesday, February 7 to Wednesday, February 8

    Nine-time major champion Gary Player is once again returning to Abu Dhabi for the annual Black Knight Invitational.

    The golfing event was initially planned to last for a single year before the Abu Dhabi Sports Council sealed a deal guaranteeing play at the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club for at least five years.

    Similar to previous iterations, gathering funds for ADSC-approved charities remains the tournament’s primary objective.

    KIBSONS / DASSA SCHOOLS X-COUNTRY – SENIORS RACE 2
    Wednesday, February 8

    Super Sports Events organises another fun-filled event for the youth of Dubai. Approved by DASSA and Dubai Sports Council, the aquathlon pits students against each other or as a collective bunch against other school teams in a three-race series.

    Held in Rashid School for Boys, the Kibsons-sponsored affair will include separate categories for competing boys and girls with three age brackets, ensuring a delightful afternoon of running.

    OCEANIC TRIATHLON SERIES – RACE 2

    Thanks to ever-growing popular demand, the Oceanic Triathlon Series returns to Khorfakkan.

    Devised by the four-star Oceanic Hotel, the cost-friendly course encourages participation in two forms: Short and Super Sprint.

    The former asks triathletes to embark on 30km cycle through the east coast’s second largest town before returning to the holiday beach resort where their succeeding endeavour will require a run grazing beside the stunning corniche yielding soothing oscillating waves before eventually crossing the finishing line.

    The latter, as advertised in its naming, challenges participants to repeat an altered, yet shorter version of the aforementioned course as rapidly possible.

    PORSCHE GT3 CUP CHALLENGE MIDDLE EAST – ROUND 4
    Friday, February 10 to Saturday, February 11

    The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge returns to the Middle East for an eighth time, showcasing the region’s top motorsport talent. The multi-round event begins at the Bahrain International Circuit before temporarily shifting eastwards to the UAE, where drivers will grace the Dubai Autodrome and Yas Marina Circuit tracks.

    The format is considered to be the most pure form of racing since competing drivers are restricted to the same model – Porsche 911 GT3. This race is perhaps the ultimate opportunity for prospective motor racers to propel themselves onto the grand stage and taste the professional motorsport environment.

    Contestants in the previous seven editions have moved on to greater things, including the elite Porsche Supercup, World Endurance Championship, 24 Hours of Le Mans, and single-seater GP2.

    INDOOR HUMAN FOOSBALL TOURNAMENT 2017

    Kickoff Sports & Amusement are proud to present the first Indoor Human Foosball tournament held in the UAE.

    Situated in their Oud Metha facility, games will compromise of 10 – 14 players, with participants required to hold onto a pole with both hands at all times as they attempt to score goals and simulate a regular table top foosball experience.

    Players must make sure the ball is always below the foosball pole during play.

    THE BUGGY RUN

    It all began when two fitness enthusiasts desired to combine parenting with exercise and after taking matters into their own hands, managed to capitalise on one of the most convenient gym-less health and fitness trends in the country. Consequently, 11th February will see Dubai debut The Buggy Run.

    With the Dubai Autodrome confirmed as venue, participants are encouraged to complete an untimed 2.5km or 5km course; either by walking, skipping, jogging or sprinting. However, individuals must find their way around the track while simultaneously having an infant inside their buggy.

    In spirit of familial closeness and instilling the importance of fitness at a young age, post-race entertainment will incorporate family-friendly activities – offering the chance for guests involved to win prizes by leading brands such as Mountain Buggy and Urban Energy.
