Positives and negatives from today…… -Positives it was my First race in dubai and first win in the male 5k ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผ – Negatives, it was slower than I am capable of…. lesson learned… don’t run your fastest 5k ever in training 2 days before the race, your legs will still be a mess ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Beaten by a female marathon runner who smashed it but happy with 1st male and 2nd overall. ICE WARRIOR CHALLENGE, SKI DUBAI

What better way to cool down from the UAE heat!

Hundreds of competitors took to the ice during Friday’s Ice Warrior Challenge at Ski Dubai – in which entrants worked in a team to combat various obstacles.

It’s just CRAZY, STUBBORN, ME! I should’ve probably stayed in bed, rest, recover and heal my injures from my last Spartan Race in Lake Tahoe. But I simply couldn’t resist doing this race! ๐Ÿ™ˆ It’s hard to explain where this craziness comes from. But, one thing I know, it’s so good to be there on that podium! ๐Ÿ† Special thanks to my racing partner #spartangirl @cremadepeanuts! โ™ฅ๏ธ Now, it’s seriously time for bed till the next race #desertwarriorchallenge ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป @talisefitness #icewarriorchallenge #ocr #spartan #spartangirl #spartanwomen #spartangirlsdoitbetter #strong #fit #fitspo #fitness #fitnessjourney #unbreakable #nomoreexuxses #dubaipersonaltrainer #fitnessindxb

Dubai’s stunning skyline never ceases to amaze, with the city’s iconic Skydive Dubai helping to provide an incredible view of theย Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina and further afield.

In CNN’s new Great Big Story, skydiver Jarrett Martin takes to the sky again – in what was just one of over 1,000 jumps he has completed over the course of his career. A quite staggering number.

At the age of 18, the now full-time US-born skydiver was involved in a tragic parachuting accident – leaving him without use of his legs.

Despite this, his passion for scaling new heights and jumping from thousands of feet didn’t diminish – if anything – it only made his love for a sport ingrained in his family even stronger.

And thanks to new and improved adaptations made to skydiving equipment and landing style, the 26-year-old is able to fly higher and freer than ever.

In the video above, watchย Jarrett take to the skies from Skydive Dubai and experience one of the most adrenaline fuelled activities in the UAE.

His jump isn’t for the faint-hearted though and if you suffer fromย acrophobia, get prepared to look away!

Fatima Al Harthi is one of the most promising equestrian endurance riders in the United Arab Emirates.

The 27-year-old was inspired by her mother’s love of sport as a child and took up riding as a result.

Despite having a full-time job, the young Emirati dedicates two hours a day to her training as she looks to make an impact in the field of endurance riding.

It’s a challenging sport which can require the riders to spend upto 15 hours in the saddle with races ranging from 80 kilometres to 120 kilometres but her passion for it is unwavering.

“I really love horses, I’ve always wanted to feel the connection between the horse and the human,” she said.

“Even in the races, I keep focusing on the horse and not just about controlling with the hand. It’s like a secret between the horse and the rider.”

Watch the video above for more on Al Harthi’s story.
