Dubai Fitness Challenge transformed Burj Park into an outdoor gym this weekend with mobile fitness units equipped to provide Dubai’s residents and visitors an incredible range of workout options out in the open with the tallest building in the world as their view.

A wonderland for fitness enthusiasts, the venue was abuzz with people sweating it out on the various rowing machines, weight equipment’s, parkour training facilities and dedicated play and fitness zones spread across the park.

The Burj Park weekend saw the ladies give it their all on the special ladies only day during the 3-day carnival, with exclusive access to the full range of equipment, facilities, training sessions, expert fitness trainers and physio services.

In addition to the dedicated day for ladies, participants also took part in a host of free fitness sessions including Super Abs, Zumba, Body Pump, Grit Cardio and more. Mothers with kids in tow took advantage of the children’s play and fitness zones, ensuring their little ones are fully taken care of while they focus on their own 30×30 goals.

30 days of fitness: The Dubai Fitness Challenge.

Gearing up for the final weekend at Dubai Festival City on November 17 and 18, guests are encouraged to make the most of the final 6 days of free fitness classes and host of activations across the city.

World champion heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua will take center stage at the closing ceremony of the Dubai Fitness Challenge along with other sporting and fitness experts to celebrate the success of the Dubai’s first city-wide fitness movement. The event will also feature the much-awaited Dubai Fitness Challenge closing ceremony featuring a breath-taking water and light show and massive firework display.

Dubai Fitness Challenge has been created to motivate Dubai’s citizens, residents and visitors to boost their physical activity and commit to 30 minutes of daily activity for 30 days.

Running until November 18, the Challenge encompasses all forms of activity – from beach cricket, cycling, football to paddle-boarding, team sports, walking and yoga and everything in between. Participants can track their performance and their contribution to the city on the DFC app.

DUBAI FITNESS CHALLENGE

Thousands of people descended on Burj Park Friday to mark the final weekend of the 30-day Dubai Fitness Challenge.

The challenge encourages residents to embrace a healthier lifestyle by taking part in daily exercise and trying out new activities and makes Dubai one of the most active cities in the world.

DUBAI INTERNATIONAL TRIATHLON

The fourth Dubai International Triathlon took place on Friday with a sold-out crowd taking part at Jebel Ali.

The event featured a gurelling 1.5 kilometre swim followed by a 80 mile bike ride and a 10km run.

XDUBAI SPARTAN RACE, HATTA

The Spartan Race is one of the UAE’s most popular fitness events, testing participants’ physical strength, mental resilience, teamwork and overall fitness.

Taking place in Hatta, the adrenaline-pumping obstacle course was the perfect challenge for participants to test their inner warrior.

World heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua will take centre stage during the final weekend carnival of Dubai Fitness Challenge, set to take place at Dubai Festival City on November 17 and 18.

Joshua has confirmed his participation in the city-wide fitness initiative, vowing to play his part in encouraging people to boost their physical activity and commit to a healthy lifestyle.

Joshua’s impressive career has seen him win all of his 18 fights at Amateur level, including winning the Senior ABA Championships in 2010.

The following year, Joshua made his mark on the global boxing scene by representing Britain at the 2012 London Olympic Games, where he won gold in the Super Heavyweight division.

In 2013, Joshua turned professional, signing with Matchroom Boxing, and for the next three years he remained undefeated in 19 fights, including his successful defence of the Heavyweight belt he won in April 2016 against USA’s Charles Martin.

Speaking ahead of his Dubai Fitness Challenge appearance, Joshua said: “It’s been a year since my last trip to Dubai and I am excited to be going back again to be part of the inaugural Dubai Fitness Challenge. It’s a great initiative that encourages people to get active for 30 minutes daily for 30 days. I am committed to getting people moving and I’m looking forward to being part of this fitness movement. Yallah! See you there!”
