  • The du Tough Mudder challenge returns to the UAE next month and with the help of Volvic, the official water partner of the event, and their brand ambassador Marcus Smith, we’ve been giving you some top tips.

Having guided you through nutrition, hydration, strength training and the dynamics of power and endurance running, the obstacles themselves take centre stage in our penultimate episode seven.

When it comes to tackling the many elements of the physically demanding course on December 8 and 9, you need to be at the top of your game.

A positive and no-fear mindset will help you conquer the famed tough mudder hurdles, such as the Liberator, the Block Ness Monster, birth canal and the almighty Everest 2.0 to finish up.

Jumping, crawling, ducking and diving will test your upper and lower body conditioning to the limit but by honing some of Marcus’s techniques as seen in the video, you’ll be in the best possible shape to explode off the start line.

The great thing about du Tough Mudder is that it’s an event with so much variety – meaning you can afford the luxury of mixing up your training and focusing on different areas to contend with the obstacles.

As a result, your motivation and energy levels will be going into overdrive.

Power, stamina, flexibility, movement and strength themed-exercises in the gym, or outdoors, will really help you prepare for those tricky rope climbs, low crawls and explosive jumps.

So, check out Marcus’ handy hint above and don’t forget, for your chance to be a part of Marcus’ Volvic Army, all you have to do is upload a picture or video on social media of you completing a run and hashtag #FindYourVolcano.

Don’t forget to share your training experiences and tag friends and gym buddies in your videos and pictures! Get involved now via the Volvic Middle East Facebook and Instagram pages!

Grind it out at du Tough Mudder.
