Six players of Philippine Used Cars went full throttle and scored double digits to trash 3 Sisters 97-64 in the inaugural McFearin Basketball Association Season 1 at Zayed Bin Sultan Gym in Satwa, Dubai.

Joseph Loyola led the Sharjah-based Philippine Used Cars with 18 points, followed by Andrew Guzman with 16 while Dennis Perez, Sherwin Murillo, and Densar Yumang added 11 markers each.

Philippine Used Cars dominated the game from the get-go and proved too much to handle for 3 Sisters. They established a nine-point lead, 26-17, at the end of the first quarter, which they increased to 19, 48-29, before the turn.

But 3 Sisters didn’t surrender right away as AJ Lat led an uprising in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 11 points. The rally, however, was short-lived as Philippine Used Cars tightened their defence and increased their lead to 21, 71-50, going into the final quarter.

Philippine Used Cars’ backcourt generals Densar Yumang and Sherwin Murillo stepped up in the fourth period to throw the game wide open. Murillo scored back-to-back triples while Yumang made several uncontested drives to the basket to secure a big win for their team.

“We distributed the ball well and we had a good offensive run,” Philippine Used Cars team owner Pheng Tumulak told Sport360. “Chalking up a huge victory on our first game is a big morale booster for the team.”

Meanwhile, MFBA Chairman Rayan Bernardo said 16 teams are battling for basketball supremacy. The tournament is powered by Synergy Sports and supported by My HD, Max’s Restaurant, McFearin Tailoring & Gent’s Salon.

In other games, Manjares scored 19 point to lead Bicol Express in trashing DXB Warriors 89-56; Cabalen overwhelmed My HD 75-67; and Zuma trounced RC Reunion 86-76.
