It’s no secret that the Nike+ Training Club (NTC) app has taken the world by storm with thousands across the globe treating it as their ultimate personal trainer.

Nike revamped the app this year adding more than 100 new workouts, which are intelligent training routines designed by Nike Trainers, rooted in science and inspired by the world’s best athletes.

The app was redesigned for both men and women, and adjusts to you varying needs and goals.

With a new emphasis on personalisation, the app offers personalised NTC plans which deliver the ideal mix of workouts, balancing intensity and recovery based on fitness level and goals.

The app hacks excuses. It has adaptive Training features that adjust to individual progress and busy, ever-changing schedules. Input is both automated and added by the user. NTC asks how hard a session was and adjusts the next workout accordingly.

Users are guided through every drill to highlight form and mitigate mistakes and they also get credit for out-of-app activities, like hikes, hoops or NRC runs to inform the adaptive plans.

    How to get the app...

    • WHERE TO BUY: App Store and Google Play

There are weekly “featured athlete” workouts as well, inspired by elite athletes like decathlete Ashton Eaton and tennis world No1 Serena Williams.

The latest star athlete to feature his workout on the NTC app is Qatari high jumper Mutaz Barshim, who is an Olympic bronze medallist and World Championship silver medallist, gunning for gold at the Rio Games this month.

Barshim is one of the fittest athletes on the planet and can clear a height of 2.43m. Want to know how a person can jump that high? His workout on the NTC app, titles “The Jump” can shed some light on that mystery. The workout is a 46-minute moderate intensity session and comes under the ‘Advanced’ group of workouts on the app.
