  • The new 'Dragon' puma boots collection.

Love it or hate it, PUMA are consistently redefining and reimagining how a football boot should look. And even if you’re a purist who never likes to waver from your trusted black boots, you have to admire the creativity.

    – #360reviews: Starter snapbacks

    – #360reviews: CycleOps Tempo Fluid Trainer Kit
    – #360reviews: Le Coq Sportif – Diamond Jacquard print

Latest off the production line is these Far Eastern-themed numbers, the dragon graphics supposed to be a symbol for power, wisdom and agility. No sniggering at the average IQ of footballers please.

The rollcall of stars who will be wearing them over the comings weeks: Sergio Aguero, Marco Reus, Radamel Falcao, Antoine Griezmann, Marco Verratti and Santi Cazorla is impressive.

If you’re a fan of evoSpeeds already, in terms of comfort and wear, these don’t bring too much extra to the table.

They fit snugly, it should be said they are very narrow. So, if you’re an industrial-sized defender then probably steer clear or buy a bigger size than normal – and the sole provides plenty of stability while at the same time giving you fantastic feel of the terrain below.

The ankle shell at the back of the boot also provides great stability and security in the tackle.

They’re also incredibly lightweight, coming in at just under 200g making them among the lightest boots on the market. The USP is, of course, the dragon print and scales emblazoned around the whole boot which distinctly mark them out as unique.

We rate it: 8 out of 10 – A little narrow, which limits the appeal to some players, but they look fantastic… if anything maybe too good to play a game in. They’re certainly one for the boot collectors.
