  • Fierce Reebok Pump Fusion.

The first thing I noticed when I picked up my vibrant fierce fuchsia pumps was that they are as light as a feather.

The entire upper is one piece, like a sock with just enough stretch to allow you to pull it on, similar to a bootie.

The deep cut-away sides and back prevent the shoes from digging in uncomfortably, but there is still plenty of support given by the high shaped tongue and heel/ankle area of the shoe.

The mesh material is soft and breathable, whilst at the same time being durable. I wear mine every day and have been doing so for a few weeks.

A wipe at the end of each session and the shoes are still looking as good as new. They’ve got wet a few times and dry out very quickly.

The really clever thing is the pump. Although this idea has been around for a while, this is the first time I have tried it out. I like a generous fit, but my feet slip and slide in many shoes unless there are lots of supporting structures across the uppers which can be very uncomfortable.

With these, you slip your foot into them, do up the laces and secure with the Velcro strap for added stability (also keeps the laces secure).

Then you press the pump until you feel that your feet are snug, providing a custom, personalised ‘air cage’.

This pump feature prevents your feet from slipping but in a gentle, cushioned way. The strap across the mid-section of the foot also prevents slippage, allowing freedom of movement for your toes. I wear these shoes for walking/jogging with the dogs each day. We are on many different surfaces, up and down hills and I’m often pulled in different directions when the dogs are on their leads.

The Pumps offer excellent grip and support, ensuring that quick transitions in all directions are not a problem.

They look great, although I’m not a fan of the Velcro strap. I would recommend them for any sport or activity where fast changes in pace and direction are called for. I wouldn’t run any great distance in them though.
