Waisale Serevi, widely considered the best 7s player of all time, has been named as coach of this year’s Legends side, a team that boasts a collective 159 International Caps*, where Serevi will be calling on an impressively experienced side to step up and claim the trophy in van der Westhuizen’s name.

J9 World Legends was established in 2013 by South African Rugby Union Legend Joost van der Westhuizen to help raise awareness of Motor Neuron Disease (ALS), which van der Westhuizen was diagnosed with in 2011.

Since J9 players first took the field, the jersey has been worn by an illustrious collection of rugby stars including Carlos Spencer (New Zealand), Colin Charvis (Wales), Stephen Larkham (Australia), Brian Lima (Fiji) and Waisale Serevi.
